What is the Cycle To Work Scheme?

The Cycle To Work scheme is part of the UK Government’s “Green Transport Plan” which aims to reduce the carbon emissions in the UK. By reducing your Income Tax and National Insurance Contribution, the Cycle To Work Scheme allows you to save up to 42% on the cost of a new bike & safety accessories.

Why should you use the Cycle To Work Scheme?

Joining Cycle2work has a whole load of benefits:

 You’ll save money

When you take advantage of the Cycle To Work Scheme, not only could you save up to 42% on the price of the bike & other accessories, you will also save money on other expenses like fuel, emissions tax and vehicle insurance. With the regular exercise you’ll be getting, you can cancel your gym membership too.

>  Wave goodbye to expensive & cramped public transport, and say hello to a healthier bank balance!

 You’ll be healthier

Cycling to work is a great way to exercise daily. People who exercise regularly are less likely to suffer from illnesses like heart disease or type 2 diabetes. The NHS recommends adults aged 19-64 aim to do 150 minutes of aerobic activity per week – that’s just a 15 minute ride to and from work on your Cycle To Work Scheme bike.

>  No more sitting in traffic or in a dodgy bus shelter. Be lean, mean, healthy and green.

 You’ll save the world

If you ride 3 miles to and from work during the week, over the course of a year you’ll release nearly 800kg less CO2 into the atmosphere than you would if you had driven those miles in an average car. Cyclists taking advantage of the Cycle To Work Scheme have a noticeable impact in reducing global warming.

>  Offset your carbon footprint by the same amount as planting 4 trees every year, without getting your hands dirty.
