The idea behind the Crossmax Elite is simple: what is the single feature in your wheel that can make a massive difference to your riding without breaking the bank? After decades of analyzing wheels as a whole system and field-testing them on the most demanding XC trails, the answer became clear: the rim. Make it as light as possible and you reduce inertia to deliver a more dynamic ride. Built from the best We started with our lightest aluminum rim: the one from our Crossmax Pro. It’s made using ISM4D (Inter Spoke Milling) leaving only what’s absolutely necessary for strength on the rim. The new hookless 22mm internal width rim is 100% UST Tubeless compliant for improved traction, reduced flats and ease of mounting and dismounting so you won't waste your day installing new tires. We then laced those super lightweight rims to our proven QRM hubs, which are famous for staying smooth over long distances. We’ve also used our ITS4 freewheel system because it’s super fast to engage which reinforces the dynamics of the wheel. Light and fast On the scales, Crossmax Elite leads the category: 1635g in 27.5 and 1715g in 29''. It comes with our superlight and low rolling resistance Pulse Pro UST Ready tires, in 2.1 or 2.25.
