The all-new Shimano AM9 SPD mountain bike shoe is lighter, grippier and gives better protection than its predecessor, the AM45. The Shimano AM9 is designed to work with both flat and SPD pedals. For the non SPD compatible (flat pedal only) version of this shoe, view the Shimano AM7 mountain bike shoes.

The Shimano AM9 offers the best of both worlds, being suitable for both SPD and flat pedals. The two-bolt SPD system is compatible with most clipless MTB pedals, while the outsole also features a new Pedal Channel to enhance the grip experienced when not clipped in.

Designed for aggressive all-mountain, downhill and trail riding, the AM9 features an assymetrical ankle collar which protects your inner ankle bone where it’s vulnerable, without compromising on freedom of movement. The regular-style lace features an armoured shield to protect the top of your foot from dirt and debris, whilst the additional Velcro strap gives an even tension across your foot.
