Summary

Reporting to the Development Manager in the Wheelies IT Team, this role would suit a highly experienced developer who takes pride in producing high quality, technical solutions, with a natural inclination for writing maintainable code.

Joining a busy and rapidly expanding in-house application development team, you will be working on multiple major business transformation projects. Leading by example you will be setting the development standards for others in the team to follow, be one of the “go to” people for the detailed technical implementation issues, and ensure the quality of code delivered by your team.

Required Skills and Experience

• Strong knowledge and experience of .NET development (3+ years) including MVC, Web forms, SQL
• HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery
• Experience developing enterprise level solutions
• A passion for delivering high quality solutions with maintainable and testable code
• Team/project leading experience
• Experience of working in an Agile/SCRUM environment
• Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
• Ability to work calmly and get the best from others under pressure
• Excellent task and time management skills
• Strong sense of customer service
• Ability to adhere to, steer and shape departmental standards and best practices
• Excellent communication skills

Desirable skills

• JIRA, TFS, troubleshooting skills - working with business users to identify route causes
• Angular JS
• Experience of Data Warehouse solutions
• Actively suggest change and improvement to team practices and procedures
• Experience of planning the professional development of more junior team members
• Release management (of code and coordination of team members)
• Experience of running solution design workshops

Responsibilities

• Delivering high performance enhancements to our internal business systems
• Working with the Development Manager to facilitate workshops,
• Attending and contributing to solution design discussions/meetings
• Offer technical inspiration and guidance for new in-house solutions
• Working closely with all members of the development team as needed to deliver the solution
• Good timekeeping

Salary

• Pay grade of £30 - £45K, depending on relevant experience
