Mondraker Summum Pro Team Frame

The Summum Pro Team is the bike that started it all. Piloted by the like of Brook MacDonald, Fabien Barel and the MS Mondraker Team the Summum has taken World Cup downhill podiums, competed at Rampage and still leads the way for performance and lightweight frame construction in the downhill field.

The 2014 Summum frame is based around Mondraker's Forward Geometry concept which sees a shorted more direct stem and longer top tube used to construct a more balanced, better cornering, longer wheelbase bike with more direct steering. This geometry is then build into a frame with Mondraker's own Zero Suspension System which is adjusted for high level downhill racing performance. At the rear 203mm of wheel travel offers great feel, with zero pedalling feedback, zero power loss and zero brake jack meaning you can get on with focusing on the trail and staying between the tapes.

Add to that a Stealth 2.0 Technology tubing construction, a Fox RC4 Kashima rear shock, ISCG05 tabs, sealed cartridge bearings, adjustable head angle, adjustable wheelbase and a 150mm x 12mm rear axle and you can see why the Summum is a constant podium topping machine for both professional and privateer riders alike.

If going fast, winning races and downhill performance are your thing then the Summum is the bike for you.

Adjustable Head Angle

The purpose of this kit is to adapt the geometry to your preferences according to your riding style or the type of track you are racing on. This means you can go from an extreme World Cup geometry set-up to a much steeper head angle in a matter of minutes.

The kit contains 3 CNC headset reducers cups which give you the ability to adjust your Summum headangle form 0¼ (63 degrees as standard), +/- 1 - +/-2 and 4 different drop-outs to adjust the length of your chainstay between 440mm, 445mm, 450mm or 455 mm together with adjustable brake adaptors to match.

*Kit comes with Summum Pro Team Only and available after market for Summum Pro and Summum models.

Forward Geometry

Mondraker's Forward Geometry concept is at the core of its 2014 range once again with a focus on improving control, handling and increasing riding confidence.

The concept is inspired by motorcycle geometry where designers use a more direct shorter stem and longer cockpit and steers away from the traditional road heritage mountain biking has inherited. Taking the current trend for longer top tubes and shorter stems Mondraker have taken it to a new level with longer top tubes, improved front centre weight distribution and shorter stem lengths.

Forward Geometry maintains current contact point positions keeping the saddle and handlebars in the same position as 'classic geometry' moving the front axle forward to see improvements in most areas of riding.

Forward Geometry advantages:
  • Security in steep areas
  • Confidence at high speed
  • Direct steering
  • Uphill precision
  • Stability on rough sections

Zero is the name of Mondraker's own proprietary suspension system and is used on all of its full suspension bikes. The Zero System is a "Virtual Pivot" suspension systems which has been development by Cesar Rojo and offers great advantages in all applications and deciplines. Compressing the rear shock from both ends gives Mondraker the ability to perfectly tube the suspension for different applications to give the highest level of performance. It's low position in the frame also helps to lower the centre of gravity for more stability at speed and better cornering.

Zero Suspension Means
  • Zero power loss.
  • Zero pedal Feedback.
  • Zero brake jack.
  • Zero bumps.

Stealth Tubing

Stealth Technology is the most advanced industrial design and structure technology used in the Mondraker range. Stealth encompasses many processes in its creation of a frame, from the inspiration and creation of the industrial design to the calculation of the most precise details and wall thickness. Each tube and part is carefully designed to carry out a specific function striving to achieve the lowest possible weight for every specific part of the frame. Mondraker«s ultra-light Stealth frames are extremely stiff and light for constructing high performance bicycles.
