Narrow wide chain rings are not new technology, in fact they have become a staple component on most modern mountain bikes.
What is a Narrow Wide chaining? Narrow wide chain rings are designed with one narrow tooth and one wide tooth specifically designed to fill the gap between the inner and outer plates of the chain to prevent derailment. This is ideal for the conversion for x1 drive train setups.
Although the design of narrow wide chain rings is to prevent derailment we still recommend the use of a chain device when riding extremely rough terrains or racing.
