The Attain SL is the featherweight athlete of the Attain series - and probably the most versatile model, to boot. It features genuine racing bike technology and is the ideal choice for fast rides and long training sessions. Expect to take the lead on this bike, even into a head wind. Even with this level of performance, we made sure that the Attain SL's comfort and ergonomics are spot on - and all this in an extraordinarily lightweight package.

Frame

The Attain SL is a balanced and dynamic racing bike with an extremely efficient ride position that remains comfortable. Flawlessly smooth tube joints between the Superlite aluminium tubes are achieved with our Smooth Welding production process. A tapered head tube, PressFit bottom bracket and mechanically formed down tube all help to increase steering precision and drivetrain efficiency. The new vibration-damping carbon fork and slender Aero Flex seat stays ensure long distance comfort, making the Attain SL the ideal choice on rough mountain passes - or anywhere where the road surface isn't perfectly smooth. Even cobbles are no problem, thanks to the fact that there's enough clearance for 28mm tyres. We've even routed all the cables internally, which means longer cable service intervals and a much cleaner appearance.

Components

We kitted the Attain SL out with a complete Shimano 105 transmission and brake set. Combining the best of Shimano's technologies, it's both workhorse and technical showcase, guaranteeing reliability and durability. A 2x11 gear setup will tackle anything a racing bike could possibly encounter out on the road. The compact chainset features chainrings of 50 and 34 teeth and drives a cassette with 11-32 teeth at the rear. We slotted Mavic's Aksium Elite wheelset into the dropouts, and also included CUBE's ergonomic Wing Race Bar.

Advanced Mechanical Forming

With our Advanced Mechanical Forming technology we can mechanically transform different frame tubes and thus optimize them without material-wearing welding work for the respective requirements. Along the obtained organic look, the production method is primarily motivated by functional reasons. Multiple converted tubes enable us to manufacture lighter and also stiffer aluminum frames.

Aluminium Superlite

Extremely high tensile strength heat-treated 7005 aluminium alloy is developed for the highest requirements. It is very stiff, fatigue resistant, corrosion resistant and has high elongation. Our Superlite tubes are double butted, giving very light tubesets with a high level of stiffness.

Frame Safe System

To protect our high-end aluminium frames from damage, they are built with the CUBE Frame Save System replaceable derailleur hanger. The mounting thread is in the hanger and not in the frame as usual. In case of a crash, this hanger can be easily and quickly replaced by a new one.

Integrated Cable Routing

Internally routed cables offer many advantages. Cables are protected from dirt for longer life, weight is saved thanks to the absence of external housing and the bike has a clean, sleek appearance.

Press Fit BB

With Press Fit bearings, the bottom bracket bearings are pressed directly into the frame and not screwed in as usual. This gives a wider bottom bracket shell and allows us to build a wider down tube and more broadly-spaced chainstays. Every millimetre of additional width gives a significant improvement in lateral stiffness.

Tapered Steerer

This steerer tube design is stiffer than a conventional straight steerer and yields a more secure ride feel even in difficult terrain. Minimal flex at the front of the frame means the greatest possible steering precision. With the larger steerer, the forks become more rigid. At the same time weight is saved due to the absence of bearing shells as the lower bearing is fully integrated into the head tube. On all of our CUBE carbon models the upper bearing shells are also directly in the frame, so that once more a few grams are saved and the energy transfer is very direct.

Wet Paint Surface

On polished, brushed aluminium and all HPC frames, the logos and graphics are applied in multi-layer wet paint. We use this surface treatment technology mainly to save weight.
