Kona

When you read the name Kona, you’d be forgiven for thinking they’re a Hawaiian brand. Founded in 1988 by industry veterans Dan Gerhard and Jacob Heilbron, Kona Bikes are actually based in Vancouver, British Columbia. Whilst working for other manufacturers, Dan and Jacob saw one-too-many poor quality bikes, so they decided to build their own!

Memorable for their Stinky and Stab models in the late ‘90s - early 2000s, Kona continue to spearhead the industry with their performance mountain bikes like the Operator and Process ranges. Their road, hybrid and cyclocross bikes have a strong following too. Kona’s off-the-wall approach makes each of their models a little different from the norm, and ever more popular for it.
